Guli masks depict an abstracted face of a buffalo, and animals that represents a spirit of the Savannah. They are worn in dances with multiple masks of different colors and diverse meanings. This is a beautiful decorative version that was carved to emulated earlier ceremonial Guli masks in Baule society.
