Bedu Plank Mask. Nafana, Ghana & Ivory Coast
D:6" W:25" H:75"
Bedu masks are abstract representations of a Mythical buffalo. The wearer dances while holding the mask on the sides while looking through the small eye holes. Because Budu masks are usually quite large, they are made with soft wood to allow more mobility for the wearer. These masks are worn during the month long new year celebrations over the winter solstice.
This is a beautiful contemporary decorative mask. It is light wood and hangs easily on a wall. It can also be free standing with a custom base. Please contact us if you are interested in a base.
