Ashanti Stool, Ghana
Drawing on a flexible canon of basic types, the Ashanti of Ghana evolved a wide variety of stools, to which many different meanings are assigned. Many of the stools have saying associated with them. Additionally, each Ashanti king put his name to a new design.
This is a Osebo Dwa stool. The leopard stool symbolized the power and influence of the Asantehene and is reserved for him alone.
