The Dogon people live in the central region of Mali. The Togu Na is an open shelter with wood or stone pillars supporting a millet roof. The ceiling of a Togu Na is too low for a person to stand up in it. Togu Na are shaded places where men can rest and discuss village affairs. Women are traditionally not allowed into Togu Na. The pillars of the Togu Na are decorated with symbols of fecundity.
